  • He move to Venice, Italy when he was three.
  • He was inspired by other explorers when he was in Venice.
  • Learned how to read and write in a Catholic Church school.
  • When he was three his hometown country lost power.
  • When he visited Spain he learned lots of spanish.
  • John felt strange in Venice.
  • He learned and became fluent in Latin and Italian.
  • He knew the world was bigger than Columbus said it was.
